Match Report by Mike Collins

Our under 10 squad headed back west for our end of season trip. There was a series of  football and hurling matches along with a few activities for the boys lined up. We set out at 9am Saturday morning and first stop was Brosna where we had a great battle with the local football team. It was great to see the boys really put into practice what they have learnt over the course of this year. Some little flicks and tricks were noted over the course of the match and some of the coaches are still scratching their heads on where these were picked up. There was some great scores taken on both sides and it’s fair to say that both teams got a great workout and really enjoyed the morning.

After a snack we loaded everybody back on to the bus and headed to the hurling strong hold in north Kerry where Abbeydorney awaited. Again as was the case for the football game, we had a serious work out and some great scores, hooks and blocks evident throughout the game. We had 4x20 min quarters and it’s fair to say that by the end of the games the boys had left everything on the pitch and really emptied the tank. It was a very strong Abbeydorney side but over the course of the match, we got more space and time to pick off scores and finish quiet strongly.

We finished out our day then with a bit of bowling where a certain coach took no prisoners and was awarded best player with highest score. We also had some time on the bucking bronco where the boys and coaches really held on for dear life to get the longest time. I am nearly certain that the same coach won this too. We finished off the day with some food and a sing song on the bus with a good auld HAKA thrown in for good measure (Thanks Jamie)
