Match Reports
U16 Football vs Askeaton Ballysteen Kilcornan.
NCW 7-16 Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan 1-04.
On a lovely summers evening in our own Pairc na nGael on Monday last (8th) the U16 footballers had a very one sided victory against an under strength Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan whom were missing some of their older 16s players due to injury and holidays.
Never the less the NCW boys whom had only 17 on the night also due to holidays etc. were fully deserved of this victory. A tough challenge game on the Friday night (5th) verses Feale Rangers of North Kerry proved to be a good way to build up to this game as the boys played a nice blend of football in the Monday match. Carrying the ball well up the field and finding each other with some well-placed kick passes. Some lovely points tapped over although a few others went astray and were well wide of the mark. But that’s something that can be worked prior to the next round of matches. The goals were well worked and where clinical in their finishing.
Overall the game was played in a good sporting manner and at a good hectic pace. Three wins from four now in the campaign with Fr Casey’s next up in two weeks’ time.
Panel: Paudie Kelly, Ethan Kirwan, Aaron Neville, James Lyons, Sean Thorley ,Jack O’Connor, John Whelan, Donal Bourke, Michael Blashkiv, Con Hayes, Leon Barry, John O’Grady, Paul Begley, Eddie Ward, Tyler Clancy, Patrick Noonan Sweeney.

Summer Camp
Another very successful GAA summer camp came to a conclusion on Friday last with the now traditional water fight. A great week had by all and the weather stayed fine. Kyle Hayes and our own Ethan Hurley and Michael Cremin fresh from their Munster Hurling final victories (Senior and Minor) were on board as coaches for the duration of the week and were a big hit with our young magpies. There was also visits during the week from Gearoid Hegarty, Willie O’Meara, Karen O’Leary, Yvonne Lee, Rebecca DeLee, Jamie Lee and others. Great credit to Clair Finnegan and Brian Fitzgerald for their super organization and efficiency in planning the week and getting in all the kit orders. The camp was coordinated by Leigh Fitzgerald and Ide Trant assisted by young enthusiastic coaches from our u16 and minor panel as well as minors/seniors from the NCW camogie club. Thanks to all involved in ensuring that our young magpies gain GAA football and hurling skills throughout the week and above all have fun doing so.
