It was a tough Saturday evening for Billy Lee (manager), Jamie Lee (0-1), Iain Corbett (Captain) and Limerick Lee side as they lost out to Cork in the Munster semi-final. Cork were the better team and had the game won at half-time courtesy of an explosive start. So it’s on to the qualifiers for Limerick, with ambition to progress as far as they can and get the very maximum out of themselves. They’ll give it their all. No one can do anymore.
The minor hurlers (Ethan Hurley centre back, Michael Cremin on the bench, Pa Keane on stats) rescued their season with a late-late equaliser, while the senior hurlers drove a nail in the Deise coffin with a confident high scoring display and a big win. The Banner seniors and the unbeaten Banner minors come to the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday next and earthquakes won’t be in it with them as they and Limerick battle for Championship survival.
The Limerick U20 football team, prepping for the upcoming Munster Championship and with new players Lee Woulfe, Lee St. John, Niall Kelleher, and Brian Foley on board, are taking part in a special Leinster league and were away to Offaly on Wednesday evening last. A narrow defeat for the boys in green was the outcome.
